This relative obscurity is a blessing for locals who can enjoy its serene beauty undisturbed. Small yet picturesque, Čeveljuša might be overlooked by many, but those who visit are mesmerized by its charm. Nature has truly outdone herself here, showcasing her grandeur in full splendor.

Getting to Čeveljuša is fairly straightforward. From the main road, you'll find two signs directing you to this enchanting spot. Upon arrival, you are presented with multiple options. If you take an immediate left, you'll find a newly opened restaurant. The menu here is fairly typical, but the food is exceptionally delicious. The ambiance is delightful, and the service is top-notch. However, one minor drawback is that the meat is not locally sourced—a common issue in many places. Nonetheless, the hearty meal we enjoyed left us so satisfied that the only option under the blazing Herzegovinian sun was to nap.

A Refreshing Spot: Waterfall and Swimming

Čeveljuša is one of the many waterfalls along the Trebižat River, a pearl of the region known for its water wealth and natural resources. The waterfall offers numerous spots for a refreshing dip in its clear, cool waters. Shaded by trees, it provides a haven for those looking to swim, and for the more adventurous, there are opportunities to jump from the falls or the surrounding trees. The sight of ducks swimming gracefully in the clear waters adds to the charm of this place.

If you go straight instead of left, you’ll come across a wooden bridge leading to an old mill built in the 19th century. Don't be alarmed if you notice a few planks missing on the bridge. Unfortunately, we couldn’t enter the mill, but this restored relic, once the hub of social life for Herzegovinians and a vital source of sustenance for countless families, fits perfectly into the picturesque landscape.

Additionally, there are several restaurant options, allowing you to choose the perfect vantage point to soak in the idyllic scene.

Each establishment offers a unique perspective of this paradise, making Čeveljuša not just a spot for relaxation but a place where history, nature, and local cuisine delights converge. The sound of the waterfall provides the perfect soothing background, enhancing the overall experience.
