The place is called Aščinica Livno, owned by the affable Šemsi, whose father originally started the business.

What instantly captured our attention were the homemade ice creams displayed tantalizingly behind the door. In a world where local artisanal products are becoming increasingly rare, discovering this on a sweltering summer day felt like striking gold. Šemsi’s son greeted us with patience and kindness, clearly intrigued by our surprise that someone still goes to such lengths to create something so genuine and true to its roots amidst a world dominated by industrial and commercial norms.

Choosing which ice cream to sample was a delightful dilemma, and we couldn’t resist trying several flavors. Each one was a taste of perfection. But the excitement didn’t stop there. When we learned that, in addition to their exceptional ice cream, they also offer specialties like ćevapi and burek, our joy was palpable. The burek, in particular, was a standout, surpassing all competition.
